Portrait Experiment
Using different types of papers, media (mixed or by itself) I attempted to draw this woman in four totally different views. Without looking at the previous work, I went in with as fresh of an approach as possible. The first is watercolor on cold press. I scrubbed this one a number of times before tossing it aside. I still don't think it's done but for my own sanity it is for now. The second was also water color but taking a much looser approach and using an easel so the paint would drip and let the watercolor move around the paper. This was painted while looking at Charles Reid's word...although he is much better than I am. The third is more of my "usual" approach with the drawing and pen being the stability of the piece. The last one was using acrylics in a very quick and painterly way.
