Pen, pen, and pen

Brought out a sketchbook I haven't used in a while. I had this book for about 5 years and never really like it until yesterday. I know in the back of my head to never throw away art supplies because some day they will become useful.

Crazy Cat Lady

Using collage and different techniques to update my style I used watercolor, acrylics, pen, and an unknown HP paper. I have a stack of HP paper from years ago and have no idea what is what. That could be a good thing or a really bad thing. Either way I had fun and isn't that what counts? The concept is behind Dorothy Hunter from the Richland, WA eating dog and cat food for a month. I admit I've tried a few dog bones (milky Bones) in my day but she wins the prize.

What's Good for the Goose...(100th Post...Woo Hoo)

Trying new paper and paint. Aches HP is faster dry time and friendly with the pen but you need to move fast withe paint brush. Dry time is a plus. I used acrylics on this for the vibrant color vs the muted colors in previous posts. I will combine watercolors and the acrylics in the future. I a fan of both. The jury is still out if I'm ready to leave Saunders Waterford.

Elmo & Old Guy

When I get rusty or have a while between times of art I always make one or two practice illustrations. Elmo was for my son (and later I found the surprising history of Elmo) and and an old guy that needed to be drawn. These are without adding pen & ink to them. The finished version has the ink. My son was happy when he saw Elmo.
